Dear members!
We, the BACo, are very happy to announce that the CB Career Day is coming up! On the 1st of June, from 14:00 to 18:00, the afternoon will be all in the theme of your career after studying Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. We are proud to announce that we have collaborated with the ARC CBBC, dr. Michael Lerch, and dr. Sebastian Beil, which has enabled us to invite 4 fantastic speakers for you. We will announce the speakers the coming weeks: two of them work in industry, two of them in academia.
Speaker 1 (academia): Our very own dr. Sebastian Beil; assistant professor in Electrochemical Synthesis and Catalysis at the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry! His research is focused on sustainable redox chemistry via photoredox catalysis and electroorganic synthesis. Come go dr. Beils talk and learn all about how he pursued his academic career!
Speaker 2 (industry): Tanja Kuiphuis, Manager Product Development Printing & Packaging EMEA at BASF. Tanja has worked at several companies, AVEBE, AkzoNobel and now at BASF in Heerenveen. She did a master in Polymer Chemistry here at the RUG, and on top of that, she has been in the board of De Chemische Binding in 1989-1990!
Speaker 3 (academia): Dr. Ina Vollmer, assistant professor at Utrecht University. Her research is focused on developing pathways for low temperature chemical recycling of plastic waste into building blocks like aromatics, carboxylic acids and monomers.
Speaker 4 (industry): Andre van Linden, Director Coatings Technology at AkzoNobel Paints & Coatings. He studied chemical engineering at the TU Delft and has had different functions within AkzoNobel such as R&D manager and marketing manager. Currently he is director of the coatings technology; leading a number of expert teams and senior scientists on different continents.
The event is free and will be in the Bernoulliborg: 5161.0105. There will be a networking drink afterwards from 17:00! Both BSc and MSc students of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are welcome. Please sign up via:
